OUR THANKS TO SHARANN

At the time, Sharann was an Occupational Health Advisor to BP Australia. Jill Hibbins was her sponsor.  Sharann was born in Melbourne and educated at MacRobertson’s Girl High School and Monash University. Sharann graduated with her BSc (Hons) in 1973 and Ph.D, majoring in chemistry, in 1976.

Sharann is now Secretary, Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists Inc.  Years before this position, she was often down a remote mine inspecting and assessing for mining companies on OHS.

Sharann was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Club in 2017 for her dedicated service and fellowship. Since her induction Sharann has been active in Club Service through various Committees including reception and Public Issues.  Sharann served two years as the Minutes Secretary to the Board, 1999-2002. She is an active member of the Malvern Group, serving as Group Captain 2008-2010 and again a proactive and highly respected Group Captain this year.

Sharann served as Club Meetings & Fundraising Director 2013-2015 responsible also for the Program committee.  She re-joined the Board for the 2016-2017 year as Vice President – Club Management and Communications and also took on the responsibility of OH&S matters in the Club.

Sharann's outstanding commitment to Rotary Melbourne included introduction and creation of a new outstanding web site and membership database.  Members are now enjoying the terrific work of Sharann Johnson. She was also Vice President – Club Management and Communications for 2017-2018.

Thank you Sharann for inspiration and commitment to Rotary Melbourne and for your mentoring of new Members before the Mentoring Program was created.
