98 YEARS OF ROTARY SERVICE

"Dear Jo,
I enjoyed the recent Angus Mitchell Oration Lunch and look forward to attending the 100th. Anniversary Dinner. You may be interested in the lengthy connection of the Norman family with the Rotary Club of Melbourne.
My Grandfather - Herbert Norman - Joined in 1924 and was an active member till his death in 1940.
My Father - Keith Norman - joined in 1946 on his return from active service, and was an active member,  including Vice President in 1959, until his retirement from business in 1960.
He then joined the Rotary Club of Mornington, was President, and later District Governor 260 in 1967. He remained an active member until his death in 1984.
I joined the Rotary Club of Oakleigh - Chartered by the Rotary Club of Melbourne - in 1977 and was President 3 times, including in 2008 for our 50th Anniversary.
At our Celebratory Dinner, we re enacted our Charter Dinner with the Attendance of RI Officers of the same status
as those attending our Charter Dinner in 1958, and held at the same venue. It was also attended by members of RC Melbourne.
Following the Merger of RC Oakleigh with Clayton and Huntingdale, I transferred to the Rotary Club of Mount Waverley.
Our 3 generations have in total 98 years of Rotary Service - a record of which I am very proud.
Kind Regards,
PP Peter Norman PHF OAM
Rotary Club of Mount Waverley."
