EOI Support Services Vaccine Project

The Rotary Melbourne Health and Ageing Committee are all aware that our last two years are totally defined by the Covid 19 pandemic. It has pervaded our personal, family, employment and Rotary lives. Some of us are directly involved in supporting the eradication campaign but most are not certain how we can contribute at all. Now an opportunity has arisen for Rotarians to participate in a meaningful volunteering role!

The Victorian Government has enlisted St John Ambulance to supplement the workload of administering Covid testing, transport and vaccination activities in our community. In turn St John Ambulance has reached out to Rotary Melbourne to provide volunteers in administration of the Government vaccination sites – this has now been endorsed by the Rotary Melbourne Executive Committee. In this case Rotarians will be paid around $30 per hour – it will be a direct payment which belongs to the volunteer or it could be donated on to any Rotary project.

Please consider joining this program (see the PDF file) and responding to the attached Expression of Interest form (see the Word file) after reading through the details on training and locating a centre accessible to your location. You will need to be double vaccinated, be able to work four to six hour shifts and go through a complimentary first aid training course provided by St John Ambulance.

If you are interested to join up then please complete the Expression of Interest form, send it off to St John Ambulance and please provide Trevor Nink with a copy to help in the follow-up coordination.
