Biong Deng Biong, a father of 6, arrived in Australia as a refugee from war-torn South Sudan in 2004.

Biong’s professional life has been dynamic and diverse. In addition to his Economics studies, Biong has also attained Masters of Finance and Banking and Graduate Certificate in Migration Law. However, his natural inclination to improve social harmony and to promote equality saw him gravitate to a number of community roles. Which include aide at St Albans Primary School in Melbourne, Community Liaison Officer with Brotherhood of St Laurence in Fitzroy, Program Coordinator with Edmund Rice Community and Refugee Services (ERCRS) and is currently the Executive Officer of ERCRS.

Biong also volunteers as Melbourne Victory Ambassador, founder of the Society of South Sudanese Professionals, member of the South Sudanese Leaders Forum in partnership with Victoria Police, and of the Regional Advisory Council of the Victorian Multicultural Commission (Western Region).
