James Hattam, CEO Tasmanian Land Conservancy Evening meeting 13 October

The Story of Tasmanian Land Conservancy

James Hattam is an Ecologist who completed his double degree as Bachelor of Environmental Science in Restoration Ecology and conservation Biology at Deakin University.  For the past 3 years he has been CEO of an amazing Environmental Social enterprise - The Tasmanian Land Conservancy (TLC) - a philanthropic organisation whose vision is for Tasmania to be a global leader in nature conservation.
In nearly 1 hour and 30 minutes, we were transfixed as we learned about the Conservancy’s work in building up a network of reserves to conserve critical habitat for rare and threatened species; its work with committed Tasmanian landholders to develop conservation agreements to protect critical areas in their properties, and TLC’s charitable trust that purchase, protects through conservation covenants, and re-sells that land to new owners keen to support conservation.
We thank James for sharing his passion and remaining in the virtual meeting for more than 20 minutes to answer the many questions members and guests raised.  If you missed the event, you can view it on our YouTube channel by following this link: https://youtu.be/uSAIVp_aZQM
