I have been absent from most Rotary activities for the last 4 months. Part of the reason has been work related, but the main reason has been my appointment to the United Grand Lodge of Victoria as a Grand Steward. This required several months training and on the 26th March I was Invested as a Grand officer along with 39 others into the Grand Ceremonial team for 2022/23. My duties will be to assist in a number of varying roles during the Installation ceremony of new Masters. Each Lodge has a new Master every year just as every Rotary Club has a new Club President.
Suresh Marcandan is also a member of the 2022/23 team. Together we have been trying to organise a joint function between Rotary and Freemasonry to raise funds for Mental Health Research. We feel confident that we will be able to hold that event later this year. Our dress or regalia is somewhat more formal than that of a Rotary Club President.
