Welcome to our New Member - Arbaaz Tareen (Baz)

Arbaaz Tareen (Baz) was inducted on 20th April 2022 with the classification of Mechanical Engineer.

Baz, an Australian citizen, was born in Bangalore, India and educated at Don Bosco Higher secondary School and the University of Adelaide completing a Mechanical Engineering degree in 2014. Whilst at University he held many leadership positions, most notably as the the Vice President of his college club association and as the captain of their soccer team.

Upon completing his bachelor’s degree in 2014, Baz joined Protégè Acquisitions, an Aussie sales and marketing group headquartered in Adelaide and worked with them as sales team lead until 2016. During his time there he worked with several large NGO’s such as Smith family, Australian Red Cross, Save the Children etc. and helped them raise funds. He then moved to Chennai, India where he spent the last 6 years working for BMW (2016-2017) as a quality assurance engineer and then PwC as a Consultant in their Capital projects and Infrastructure practice (2017-2021). His most notable work during his tenure with PwC was his work on the Electronics and hardware manufacturing policy 2020 for the state of Tamil Nadu which helped attract investments worth USD 1.4 billion and provide employment to over 46,000 people in FY 21 alone. 

During his time in Chennai, India, Baz was an active Rotarian and a member of the Rotary club of Madras, Next Gen between 2017-2021. Here he served as the youngest president in the club’s history between 2019-20 and served as a board member in 2 other roles, President Elect and Club trainer. During his tenure as President, he and his team raised USD 256,000 through global and district grants and helped equip 6 government hospitals with critical medical equipment to aid Covid-19 patients. Another notable project during his tenure was designing, painting, furbishing and collecting books for 12 libraries in underprivileged schools across Chennai.  

Baz moved back to Australia in January 2022 to further upskill and develop his business acumen and is currently pursuing a fulltime MBA at Melbourne Business School which he started in Sep 2021. Alongside this, he recently started in his full time role as the Assistant Manager - Vehicle Demand planning at Honda Australia. 

Baz lives in Melbourne with his wife Saher, who he got married to in June 2021. Saher is a child clinical psychologist by profession and was educated in Cambridge, U.K. As a family, Baz and Saher love spending time with their friends, travelling, watching movies and sport and love checking out new restaurants and pubs around Melbourne.
