Reflection by Robert Fisher 29 June 22

Today in Rotary is a time of reflection, thanksgiving and transition.

We reflect on a year very well led by our President Reg and our District Governor Dale; we thank them for their service to change lives; and we welcome our new President Adrian and our new District Governor Amanda, who will no doubt imagine new possibilities for us in our Club and our District.

We should pause to consider our own role and contribution in Rotary. In what way can we make a difference in this mighty organisation with its great motto of ‘service above self’? There’s a place and a task – big or small – for each and every one of us, if only we let it happen.

The incoming RI President has, in her words, urged us to “dream big and harness our connections, and the power in Rotary, to turn those dreams into reality”.

Let’s thank the outgoing team for a job well done, and resolve to lend every support to our incoming leaders. If we do so wholeheartedly, just imagine what we will have achieved by this time next year!

For good food, friendships and the opportunity to serve, we give thanks.
