Last week’s meeting guest speakers were Geoffrey Cosgriff, RACV President and Chairman & Neil Taylor Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, RACV. They spoke on ‘RACV Plans for a Cleaner Energy Future’. You can view their presentation HERE.
Last week’s meeting featured the work and services of RACV in the transition to sustainable energy. The most common reaction of members was: I did not know RACV was doing so much in this major development in the shift to solar and other sustainable sources of electricity.
The session was introduced by RACV Board Chair, Geoffrey Cosgriff who in turn introduced CEO and Managing Director, Neil Taylor. Neil told an interesting story of how RACV became fully involved in the transition. We learned about mobility hubs providing short term access to electric vehicles (EV), RACV recharging facilities, sale of solar panels and battery technology and updated roadside assistance to cater for EV.
Also of considerable interest to all those attending in-person and on-line was a progress update from Past president Peter Rogers on the Club’s Papua New Guinea piggery project which is aiming to transform PNG into a net exporter of pork to the global market.
Sue McCarthy reminded members of the Rotary Foundation and the Every Rotarian Every Year Program.
Peter’s update, Sue's reminder, and the presentation by RACV leaders have been captured in the video recording of the 30 November meeting and can be viewed by following this link: https://youtu.be/HR-seqc2G2E
