Anthony John Battaini was inducted on 5 April 2023 with the classification Psychology – Executive Coaching and he will be a member of the Central 1 Group.
Born in Carlton, he attended Waverley High School, completed degree and post-graduate qualifications in Applied Psychology (Monash) and Public Administration (Canberra) and is an AHPRA registered psychologist with 45 years in practice.
Anthony’s early career was with Federal Government, designing and conducting psychological screening for mission-critical trainee roles, including air traffic control, armed services and police. He was the first psychologist appointed to the Australian Federal Police and was Officer Commanding, Army Reserve Psychology in Victoria.
Anthony is currently a Senior Associate Partner with Hudson Global Resources, specialising in executive coaching and talent development. He has designed and project managed career transition services to support several workforce transformations, such as the restructure of the auto supply chain, on behalf of the Victorian Government, and a major realignment of Australia Post.
Anthony’s NFP activity includes Chair of More Than Opera, an arts company founded by Dr David Kram AM, which uses the transformational power of music in educational and health settings, and provides career opportunities for emerging singers. MTO supports Australia’s richest opera prize, the German Australian Opera Grant.
Anthony is a mentor in the Betty Amsden AO Monash Alumni Mentoring Program and a past Victorian Chapter and Federal President of the Institute of Management Consultants.
The Battaini name is Swiss-Italian, one of many settlers in the Daylesford area. Both sides of Anthony’s family arrived in the then Colony of Victoria around the 1860’s under schemes to establish market gardens and orchards, to feed the rapidly increasing goldrush population.
Anthony married Mandy in 1974 and they have 2 sons, a daughter and 6 grandchildren. Mandy teaches in the Medical School at the University of Melbourne. Both are active users of the RACV’s gym, pool and golf facilities, frequent travellers North, to the family’s Broadbeach apartment and Anthony is a 35-year member of the Athenaeum Club.
