Big Difference - FORaMEAL

Volunteers from across Melbourne - with supervision from Rotary Melbourne club members - on Saturday 27 May 23 had hands on experience in this incredible Rotary project, packing over 100,000 meals for emergency relief around the world, including Ukraine πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ Syria πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡Ύ Turkey πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡·.

Big Difference hit Fed Square on Saturday 27 May and introduced Rotary to hundreds and hundreds of new, motivated volunteers from across Melbourne, who helped to assemble 100,000 FORaMEAL emergency relief meals for people in need in Ukraine, Turkey and Syria. Rotary well exceeded the target of 1,000+ registrations, with all-but-one shift booked out.

A huge thanks to every Rotarian who supervised a table of volunteers, and to Rotary Canterbury’s FORaMEAL team especially Doug, Nora and Ted for leading the ambitious relief meal assembly.

The event received media coverage. Here is a link to an article in The Age on Saturday 27 May https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/volunteers-provide-a-measure-of-care-for-victims-of-war-and-disaster-20230525-p5dbc5.html
