Last Week's Meeting Wednesday 21 June 2023


The Rotary Melbourne meeting on Wednesday 21 June celebrated this year's activities and projects and the Guest Speaker was Catherine Baxter, Vice President Humanitarian Services reporting along with Committee Chairs on both Humanitarian and Club Management & Communications on behalf of Peter Davis.

President Adrian welcomed Bill Phillip AM, member since October 1980, and his Wife Mary Louise, celebrating Bill’s 95th birthday.  

Adrian then announced and presented to Jim Orchard with his Paul Harris Fellow 4 Sapphire Award for his exceptional volunteering contribution to Rotary projects since joining Rotary Melbourne in March 2017.  The accompanying citation can be read in a separate article in the bulletin.

Vice President Catherine delivered an informative report on behalf of both Club VP’s, highlighting the diversity of humanitarian projects to which our Club is committed and Honorary Secretary, John Saunders assisted in explaining the creation of the Rotary Melbourne Public Benevolent Institution early in 2023-24.  Catherine began the presentation with the presentation of the 2022-23 Axle Award to Marg Leser.
