Rotary Melbourne have received a RedR video which brings alive the importance and success of the Tonga humanitarian training program that was run in Tonga a couple of months ago.
Rotary Melbourne supported this project through its International Committee along with Rotary Balwyn, the Baker Foundation, Australia Assists and USAID.
27 participants from the Government of Tonga, NGOs and disaster response agencies had the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of global humanitarianism.
The six-day course was led by experienced trainers from Fiji, New Zealand and Australia with attendees taking part in both practical and theory-based learning covering everything from emergency coordination to humanitarian best practices.
