LiverWELL CEO, Elaine Montegriffo was introduced by Trevor Nink who has master minded the Rotary Melbourne and LiverWELL partnership to End Hepatitis Now. Elaine delivered a compelling update on the practical opportunity already available to eradicate Viral Hepatitis. She reflected on the community reach of Rotary that could be harnessed to eradicate Hepatitis Globally and this message lingers in the minds of those present.
At the conclusion of Elaine’s mini speaker presentation, End Hepatitis project team member, Deb Yin Foo came to the podium and thanked Elaine. Deb also invited Rotary Melbourne Members to join the End Hepatitis project team to help mobilise Rotary globally in addressing the achievable goal to end Hepatitis.
Rotarian Nina Hunter then came to the podium to introduce guest speaker Dr. Rod Irwin, Rod spoke of the brain’s ability to change for the better. He reinforced that when people focus on the present and future it liberates them from scripts of our past and useless baggage.
Rod presented some data from Global Gallup Workplace report found in Australia, only 23% of employees are actively engaged at work. 47% experienced stress the previous day. 11% experienced anger.
These statistics show that people are quietly quitting or actively disengaged, which means less productivity, decreased performance and poor mental health. The video featuring Dr Irwin’s presentation is accessible by clicking: https://youtu.be/bMUrGWIlxBo
