Catherine Taylor has a background in both the private and the public sectors in Australia and Japan which has included trade development, investment, marketing and diplomatic roles.  

Catherine spent many years working in trade and investment development with the Austrade, the federal Government’s Trade and Investment arm.  Catherine was posted to Japan three times with Austrade and was the Senior Trade Commissioner and Consul General for Australia, based in Osaka from 2013 – 2016.

Currently, as International Trade Manager for Dairy Australia, Catherine leads a team engaged in shaping national trade agreements, technical market access and market development to help Australian dairy product succeed and grow in key overseas markets. 

Catherine feels privileged to have been selected as a Rotary Exchange student to Japan when she was 16 years old. She is a fluent Japanese speaker and has spent a total of 18 years living and working in Japan. Catherine was admitted as the first female member (honorary) in the Osaka Rotary Club in 2013.
