In preparing for this week’s reflection, I have been wondering if others are feeling the sadness this week
Sad that an overwhelming majority have voted not to give our indigenous peoples a Voice to Parliament
Sad that conflict in the Middle East will see the deaths of ‘innocent people’ and the displacement of more refugees
And on a less significant scale to world issues
Sad that my hay fever is the worst it has ever been, and Melbourne is now considered the hay fever capital, not only of Australia but the world
But lets not dismiss the Sadness. Lets consider how we can use this emotion to draw strength and work harder to achieve world peace in Australia and abroad.
So where do we go to feel uplifted?
Melbourne Rotary of course
Today we celebrate our Vocational Service award
And it is most deserving recipient today, Dr Sandro Demaio, is to be congratulated for his dedicated work to making us ‘feel good’
So in this Sad world, we recognise that doing good is Good
In the Spirit of Service above self, lets celebrate doing good in our community.
Thank you Barbara Yerondais.
