On Wednesday 24 January 24 we have planned a whole of Rotary Melbourne club members, partners & colleagues day to join us at RIMERN warehouse for a tour and volunteer day.
Rotary Melbourne is a member of the multi-club, Centenary Community Service project, RIMERN (Rotary Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network). It’s a ‘hands on’ service project like, DIK (Donations in Kind) and WERN (Western Emergency Relief Network). RIMERN collects donated furniture, appliances and household goods, to distribute to people in need in inner Melbourne.
Clients select items to set up their secure housing following long-term homelessness, escaping domestic violence, coming out of jail and other situations of dire need.
At this meeting we will meet anytime from 11am for some volunteering, packing, sorting etc..
At 12.30 we will break for refreshments and hear about the project.
Join us for a few hours of friendship and volunteering at the Rotary warehouse specializing in the recycling and reissuing of donated household goods to rehomed families and individuals.
Come and learn about the socially and environmentally friendly project and bring a friend, grandchild, partner - all are welcome.
Be ready to roll your sleeves up! All ability jobs available.
A light lunch will be provided whilst we hear about the project and its impact.
