A couple of weeks ago PP Phil got an email from one of our wonderful past members, Heather Barton, who retired to the Peninsula but kept up her involvement with Rotary. Heather is now the President of the Rotary Club of Rosebud-Rye and given my ongoing interest in homelessness and social housing asked if I would mind addressing her Club on the topic.
Well, the invite was for the evening of Valentine’s Day (14 Feb 24) which he queried at first with Heather but once permission was granted on the home front he ventured down and addressed the Club.
It was a great night and nothing like a make-up event as the guest speaker and their Club have done a wonderful job in building their own warehouse (which houses their Opportunity Shop) and a 2 story office, meeting room & kitchen. They are located in the industrial area near Bunnings in Rosebud and I would recommend anyone who is in the area to drop in and see them OR do a make-up on a Wednesday evening.
