Polio Be Gone—D9800 Polio Plus Society Update

Jane Pennington (End Polio Coordinator D9800) provides this communication to help mobilize support and donations for the ongoing fight against polio, ultimately bringing Rotary International and its partners closer to achieving the goal of a polio-free world.

Included are facts about the fight against Polio and details of what is coming up in the near future.

Our PolioPlus Society has grown to 81 members from 31 different clubs across the District and our thanks go to everyone who supports this cause.

The next major event in the District is our District Conference in Bendigo on 12—14th April. End Polio will have a large presence both on the Stage and in the Showcase. PDG Murray Verso will present an update during the Plenary Session on Saturday afternoon and so all attendees will hear the latest news. End Polio has a stand in the Showcase, right at the entrance so all attendees will walk past our stand, which will have information and

some activities to encourage people to stop and talk. The Iron Lung will also be on display, which will be a draw card as many people will have never seen one before. So, if you are at the Conference, please make sure you stop and say hello.

Later this year there will be the End Polio Walk again in October so you can pencil that into your diary now and more information will be circulated as the time draws nearer.
