Reflection by Barbara Yerondais 20 March 24

Today we celebrate Rotarians, and the work we do to establish and manage projects and activities that reflect the Rotary seven world areas of focus, being

  • Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
  • Disease prevention and treatment
  • Water and Sanitation
  • Maternal and Child health
  • Basic education and literacy
  • Economic and community development
  • Environmental sustainability

As members of an established modern society, where we take these issues for granted, I’ve been thinking how lucky we are to have Water

  • Clean water to drink
  • Water to clean
  • Water to ensure our sanitation is well developed and organised

So in reflection today I would like to congratulate the Rotarians involved in all projects, and specifically the Agkawayan Elementary school, toilet block project, as featured in this week’s bulletin.

Imagine living in a village where clean water and sanitation – in the form of toilets, is not taken for granted.

For good food and good company let’s celebrate all our project successes.
