Honorary Member Sally Capp, Lord Mayor at the City of Melbourne, received the World City Prize special mention from the President of Singapore recently.
Sally noted on Facebook that it was an honour to receive a Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize special mention from the President of Singapore.
This is an award that recognises and celebrates our achievements in sustainability, urban design, development and innovation.
Melbourne was acknowledged for its leadership in climate resilience, sustainability and our pandemic recovery.
The Lee Kuan Yew World Cities Prize committee recognised Melbourne for fostering deeper connections and capitalising on partnerships with the private sector, other levels of government, and local and international communities - creating a more sustainable and prosperous future.
We want to congratulate the overall winner of the Lee Kuan Yew World Cities prize Mexico City, and fellow special mentions; Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro and Wellington.
