Civility.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we had more of it? It seems a less civil world. Be online or in person. Retail staff, health workers and many others now being confronted with outright aggression.
Rawls, the great twentieth century philosopher, felt that to have a fair society you needed to have civility, not only in tone but also in an underlying set of shared common values which meant an acceptance that you could respectfully disagree with others but work towards common goals. Civility is surely one of the things that we are here promote.
And for good food and fellowship let’s be thankful.
