Rotary Melbourne welcomed and inducted Shiren Anwar on 2 October 2024 with the classification State Government - Business DevelopmentShiren enjoys a vibrant personal life with her partner Brock and their cat.             

Shiren Anwar (Shiren) was inducted on 2 October 2024 with the classification Business Development – Victorian Government.

Shiren Anwar was born in Kashgar, a historic city in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China. In 2015, she moved to Melbourne, Australia, where she has since built a successful career in marketing communications and business development. Shiren holds a Master’s degree in Marketing Communication from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor’s in Audiovisual Communication from Shanghai University.

Shiren’s early professional experiences include working for a property developer in channel sales and an advertising agency in account management. These roles helped her develop a broad skill set in stakeholder management, sales strategy, and marketing communication. She has since transitioned into the public sector, where she currently serves as the Senior Investment and Engagement Officer at the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions. In this role, Shiren fosters business growth and drives economic development in Victoria by identifying and securing strategic business investment opportunities.

Shiren enjoys a vibrant personal life with her partner Brock and their cat. In her free time, she can often be found practicing golf at the driving range, training at the gym, creating social media content, or enjoying long lunches with friends.

She is fluent in four languages: Uyghur, Mandarin, Turkish, English.
