Our lungs play an important role in keeping us healthy. The fact is, like the rest of our body, our lungs need daily care and attention. Simple things like keeping active, watching our posture and staying hydrated can apparently help keep these vital organs in good condition.
More broadly, there’s no one way to be healthy, but a healthy lifestyle may simply mean doing things that make us feel good. For me, it means walking every morning for quite a distance. For others, it may mean eating fast food only once a week, or spending quality time with loved ones every other day, or running a marathon once a year, or following a special diet, or (heaven preserve us!) never having a sip of wine.
Wellness is what results from the pursuit of lifestyles that lead to a state of holistic health. It encompasses mental, physical and emotional well-being, and involves elements like nutrition, physical activity, stress management, relationships and life choices. Easy!
For good food and friendships through Rotary, we give thanks.
