Longer serving members will be saddened by the news of the passing of Ian Dakin a former member of the club and brother to Past President Peter Dakin. Ian died at Cabrini Hospital on 22 October after a long illness. He was 88.
Ian was a 29 year member of the club resigning to retire on the Bellarine. He had a keen interest in the welfare of the young having introduced the Club to the Lord Somers Camp & Powerhouse where he was a long serving Group leader and an Honorary Life member.
Past President Roger Nicholson and his wife Fay were great friends of Ian and together with Anne, Ian’s wife they were instrumental in developing the wonderful ongoing relationship and amazing support from Rotary Melbourne with Very Special Kids (VSK ).

A Celebration of Life for Ian will be held on Friday 22 November ( 2.00 – 4.30pm )at Kooyong Tennis Club .
