Monday 25 November is the 2024 United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women which is also the commencement of '16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence'.
Rotary SAFE Families through its Inclusive Communities Initiative (significantly funded by Rotary Melbourne) is supporting the African Youth Initiative (AYI) on the Prevention of Family Violence. On 28 November, Dorothy Gilmour is to present a session on Bystander Training to the AYI Girl Chat group and on 5 December, Dorothy is a panellist at a panel discussion 'Voices of Survivors.'
These sessions will not include males and hopefully Ramona Martinovici, Getrude Matsche (our soon to be new RM Member) or Puja Gangopadhyay who are on our project leadership team might be able to attend so there can be a Rotary Melbourne presence to promote our Club's participation.
