Reflection by Robert Fisher 19 February 25

Today we recognise the generosity of Sir John Reid, who I’m certain would have been pleased that someone’s service above self in the community, even outside Rotary, would be awarded each year in his name.

And today we mark the extraordinary dedication of two such volunteers, each with a heart warming story of unfettered commitment to their community causes.

Their stories should remind us of the obligation each of us has, as a Rotarian, to fulfill our organisation’s primary goal of providing service to others. It doesn’t have to be done with a great flourish, or with the expectation of being lauded; quite simply, little acts of kindness can in themselves make a difference, while at the same time quietly giving us an enormous sense of satisfaction.

So for good food, and friendships through Rotary, we give thanks.
