Induction of Prof Tristan Kennedy

We are pleased to introduce Prof. Tristan Kennedy, a highly accomplished academic and leader in Indigenous advancement, in joining Rotary Melbourne as a member of the Monash University Corporate team at our lunchtime meeting on Wednesday 5th March 2025.

Tristan is a Noongar Australian and holds a pivotal role as Deputy Vice Chancellor - Indigenous at Monash University, in advancing Indigenous education across the Asia-Pacific region. As a leader in developing future Indigenous scholars and leaders, he works on projects that have a direct impact on communities, from Australia to Malaysia, Indonesia, Fiji, and beyond. He is proud of Monash University’s significant strides in increasing Indigenous enrolments and is committed to supporting Indigenous health and leadership initiatives.

With a PhD in Sociology from Flinders University and previous experience at Macquarie University, Tristan has recently joined Monash University and continues to advocate for Indigenous advancement across the academic and industry sectors. In addition to his work, he manages a small farm south of Adelaide with his family.

Tristan’s expertise and passion for Indigenous education and community development will bring immense value to Rotary Melbourne. He has expressed a willingness to contribute to Rotary Melbourne’s future Indigenous projects and play a key role in supporting social licence for our initiatives. We are excited to welcome him as a member and look forward to his involvement in our community efforts.
