With the return to Japan of Junji Shimada, Mr Tokuro Furuya will join our Club as an Honorary Member.

Consul General Furuya-san’s has had three major posting before coming to Melbourne:
2014-2018 Russia (Head of Chancery)
2018-2021 Australia (Political Minister – Canberra)
2021-2024 Canada (Deputy Head of Mission)
So this is Consul General Furuya-sans second posting to Australia with the position of Consul-General of Japan in Melbourne with responsibility for the three states of Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
Besides Japanese & English Consul General Furuya–san can also converse in Chinese and Russian
Consul General Furuya–san will be known in the Club as Furuya-san
