Reflection by Cheryl Lacey 26 March 25

We meet in Fellowship grounded in the values of Western civilization, where responsible freedom, and the right to build your own future are how there is foundation of a good society.

Rotary was born from that same spirit, four small business owners choosing service through enterprise.

Today, small businesses make up 98% of Australian companies, the backbone of our productive economy. With just over half of our 27 million citizens in the workforce, 5 million are employed in small business and 2.7 million in the charitable and not-for-profit sector.

To uphold the values of Western civilization is to uphold Rotary's purpose: Enterprise and responsibility. That is where the strength of both charity and society lies, with dignity, purpose, and responsible freedom at the Centre.

For good food, fellowship and Rotary's founding purpose, we give thanks.
