An advantage of a convalescence after a major procedure is that you can listen to lots of podcasts.
I was surprised to hear in one, but maybe shouldn’t have been, that some of the latest developments for AI large language models, like ChatGPT, is that they now have added flattery directed to the user to attract more business. You will be told how wonderful you are when doing a fact or grammar check. Perhaps even worse to my ears, was one large tech company which had decided that they were going to help solve the loneliness crisis, as it was characterised, by designing a product which would give you 12 artificial digital friends designed to match.
I am grateful to Rotary for the chance to serve but also for the fraternity. And I wish other people would have the chance to be connected with real people!
