Director International Service, Dr Carol Bond, attended a Rotary District 9800 (RD9800) celebration evening to support our very own Global Grant Scholar (GGS), Ashley Chandler. Ashley approached the club earlier this year, attended a luncheon, and successfully secured a Global Grant to support her studies. Ashley has been accepted into a prestigious Masters in Law in International Dispute Settlement at the University of Geneva Faculty of Law / Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. This special event occurred because this is the first year that RD9800 has been able to fund 5 GGS – a record number. There were 8 applicants, all of whom were worthy, but the competition was won by narrow margins. Ashley is looking forward to visiting Rotary Melbourne (RCM) before she departs for Switzerland to tell us more about her upcoming studies.
