Inspiring Youth Leadership: Student Community Service Award

Rotary Melbourne proudly presented the 2025 Student Community Service Award to Charlotte Arndt of Beaconhills College, recognising her outstanding commitment to community service through her initiative Play It Forward Vic.

Charlotte’s journey began during a family holiday in Fiji, where she discovered that many village children lacked proper sports uniforms. Determined to make a difference, she launched a project to collect pre-loved netball uniforms. With remarkable energy and vision, Charlotte successfully sent nearly 200 uniforms to Fiji, giving multiple teams the opportunity to play with pride.

Inspired by the joy this created, Charlotte has now expanded the initiative to support children in Samoa. With the help of a $2,000 Rotary Melbourne grant, plus matching funds, she is building partnerships with local clubs and leading creative fundraising efforts to supply more uniforms abroad. Charlotte’s thoughtful approach - budgeting, logistics planning, and community engagement - reflects leadership well beyond her years.

Her passion highlights how one young person’s vision can ignite meaningful change and demonstrates the values of service, compassion, and collaboration that Rotary champions.

Rotary Melbourne congratulates Charlotte on this well-deserved award and looks forward to supporting her ongoing efforts to Play It Forward.
