Reflection by Robert Fisher 17 September 25

Peace is a cornerstone of Rotary’s mission. We believe, as a humanitarian organization, that when people work together to create peace in their communities, it can have far-reaching effects.

By carrying out service projects and supporting peace fellowships and scholarships, our members take action to address the underlying causes of conflict, including poverty, discrimination, ethnic tension, lack of access to education, and unequal distribution of resources.

Rotary Melbourne is a Peacebuilder Club, one of only eight in Australia. Peacebuilder Clubs commit to engaging in dialogue and projects that promote positive peace both in their communities and across the globe. In practice we have, over the years, contributed significantly to the Rotary Peace Fellow and Global Scholar programs, and more recently we established a Peace Bells feature at Rotary Park in South Yarra.

Rotary creates environments where peace can happen.

For good food, friendships through Rotary and the opportunity to serve, we give thanks.

Thank you Robert Fisher.
