Nominate a Candidate for the Rotary Peace Fellowship - 2027

The Rotary Peace Fellowships were inaugurated in 2002 between Rotary International and prestigious universities around the world. Each year, 170 fully funded fellowships are awarded to encourage master’s level students to dedicate their lives to peace and humanitarian service.

Over the last 20+ years, the Rotary Peace Centres have trained more than 1,800 fellows in 140 countries. Graduates of this program serve as leaders in governments, NGOs, education & research institutions, peacekeeping & law enforcement agencies, and international organisations like the United Nations and the World Bank
Rotary Peace Fellowships are designed for leaders with at least 3 years' work experience in a relevant occupation following either a bachelor’s or master’s degree. The Peace Fellowship program lasts from 15 to 24 months and includes a two- to three - month field study, which participants design themselves.  There is a mid-career certificate program for professionals in peace and development roles with at least 5 years’ experience.
The Rotary Club of Melbourne was instrumental in founding the Peace Fellowship program through Bob Fels’ leadership. And the RCM has consistently sponsored applicants from 2002 forward. Several of these alumni live and work in Melbourne and they include Prof Tania Militec and Dr Elaine Pratley. There are dozens of Peace Fellow alumni, sponsored by other clubs, living and working in Melbourne.
RCM has the capacity to coach and mentor applicants. There is no financial cost to the club for these fellowships - all costs are borne by RI in Evanston. Please note that applications are open from February through May 15. The sooner we identify applicants to support, the more we can assist them. Please reach out to your networks to organisations such as St John’s Ambulance, Red R, Homie, Little Green Panda, Sweet Justice, Salvation Army, Brotherhood of St Laurence, Streat, Western Chances, and others.
Questions? Thoughts?  Please reach out to VP Humanitarian Programs - Carol Bond, International Services Director Robert Fisher, or Rob McGuirk. See the attached flyer for more information.

Applications for the 2027 Rotary Peace Fellowships are open until 15 May.
