Robert Fisher is challenging himself to walk 10km per day during the month of October 25 to raise $5,000 vital funds that will help eradicate and prepare us for a Polio free world.

Poliomyelitis is a disease that should have been made history a long time ago, yet it runs the risk of becoming forgotten about. Polio is crippling and potentially fatal. There is no cure, but there are safe and effective vaccines. The strategy to eradicate Polio is therefore based on preventing infection by immunizing every child until transmission stops and the world is Polio free

However, a Polio free world does not mean it’s over altogether. It requires updated vaccination policies, appropriate containment of the Polio virus in facilities, and the certification that Polio has indeed been eradicated.
