Balancing Service, Peace and Justice
Amidst the global chaos, we are mindful of how we achieve Peace and Justice at the same time be of service to humanity. It is a tall order, but we celebrate this month of March, Rotary’s Water - Sanitation, with Melbourne Rotary’s successful construction of water distribution pipelines in eight remote underserved villages, adjacent to the contested West Philippine Sea.
With Ilin Island and San Jose’s access to this basic service, we improved lives and contributed to peace; but we did this by seeking justice for these forgotten communities.
In times of adversity, to be of service, we need justice to achieve peace, as this creates the balance and assurance of dignity towards a more sustainable hope for lasting peace.
