LAST WEEK'S SPEAKER

MATT BRASSINGTON

Matt Brassington is the CEO of Aquasure and explained very candidly the background to the Melbourne needs for water leading up to the decision to construct the Desalination Plant at Wonthaggi in Gippsland. The argument to supplement the rain fed water catchments with a source of independent water created from the ocean was largely non-partisan. That is except for the size of the unit.

CLUB NEWS

TREE PLANTING SUCCESS

Trevor Nink updated our lunch meeting with the successful Tree Planting update.  "Volunteers from the Rotary Club of Melbourne turned out for planting at Westgate Park on the beautiful Sunday morning of October 15, enabling the Club to meet the challenge set by global RI President Ian Riseley (Sandringham Club). Their work was guided by the Friends of Westgate Park who gave the safety and planting instructions, provided planting mats, hatchets, plants, and protective boxes, and laid out the planting locations.

CLUB MENTORING PROGRAM

This is your opportunity to support the Club’s Membership Engagement objective.

RCM is about to commence a Club Mentoring Program. We will be running a series of mentoring skills workshops. We are looking for established members of the Club to take part in the mentoring workshops and be trained as Club mentors.  The workshops will be run at the RCM office in Collins Street, The first two workshops are proposed to be run on: Wednesday 15 November between 2:30pm and 5:30pm, and Wednesday 8 November between 6pm and 9pm. The ask of the members that take part in the workshops will then be to utilise the mentoring skills that they acquire to support a higher level of engagement with the Club of our newer membership.  To nominate please reach out to Jo Mavros or email Maureen Mangion on maureen.mangion@pwc.com.
