The response to the raffle last week was good. However, we need to remember to return the stubs and money and to alert those Members absent last week to pick up ticket books from their table in the weeks that lead up to the 14 August launch and drawing of the raffle prize." All proceeds go to the Smith Family.
Our thanks go to PP Robert for being the instigator for our Members to be invited to the Special Preview of "Come from Away" recently. President Kevin and PP Robert welcomed Claude Elliot (former Mayor of Gander and former President of the Rotary Club of Gander) and Dermot Flynn (former Mayor of Appleton). They were both characters in this acclaimed production.
President Kevin has conveyed that Global Scholar Katie Wilford’s Valedictory Address will be delivered on Wednesday when our District Governor addresses our lunch meeting.
Our Global Scholar extraordinaire, Katie has tramped Australia (often alone) and made every minute count in her year here. She has been a terrific ambassador for Global Scholars and is about to depart for home. Katie got to Uluru to complete her travels. She was spellbound and "lost for words for once in my life"! Thank you Katie, I will miss you!
