Leigh was sponsored by Rotary Club of Melboune in 1979 for a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship which District endorsed. He went to the University of Birmingham UK, where he studied foundry metallurgy. He worked briefly in UK before going to USA where he had a successful career, including working with high performance vehicles in Indianapolis. He was on a brief visit to Melbourne but his wife became ill so it will be longer than anticipated. Leigh is yet another Rotary Scholar nominated by our Club who has not only excelled in his field but demonstrated his gratitude to Rotary by keeping in touch. It was great that he reached out to Rotary Melbourne and attended our Festive Lunch on Wednesday 14 December 2023. By Bob Fels

This year’s Christmas Appeal supports Rochester Flood recovery efforts. So far we have exceeded the goal set thanks to the generosity of lunch attendees and members from afar.
We heard from Heather Watson, President of Rotary Rochester how the floods have impacted and how grateful they are of the support. Only 100 of the 1000 homes in Rochester have NOT been inundated by water! Thank you.
