There were 10 applications to the program through District 9800 of which 7 were endorsed by the District Peace Fellowships Committee. Of these 7, three were successful and all were supported by the Rotary Club of Melbourne. Two candidates from other clubs in the District were listed as alternates if there are to be any late dropouts from their preferred Universities.

Rob has detailed that our three successful candidates were Kelly Lawson, from Victoria Police, and Jennifer Grover, from RedR, (both headed to the Professional development course at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand) and Amra Lee from RedR, who has been based in Beirut and is heading to the Master’s program at Uppsala University in Sweden where she will no doubt contribute further to the reputation of the RCM established by our own member Stephanie Woollard, followed shortly thereafter by Lucienne Heywood.

Last, but not least, we have maintained the unbroken District record of success in the program established by Bob Fels. If anyone feels inclined to join Rob in the recruitment process for 2018,  please contact him sooner rather than later as there is much to be done.

Well done Rob!  Rob can be contacted at: rhelme@bigpond.net.au
