The nominations went to a panel of six who selected the recipient of the award and the Award was presented at the Australia and New Zealand Conference in Tasmania. 

This Regional Award recognises Ruth as a person who has dedicated her life to helping others in need, truly embodying the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self”

The Award recognises a person who, through their actions, is exemplary in his/her leadership, caring, and commitment to the welfare of humanity, either within Zone 8 or globally.

It is to be awarded to a person who inspires others to action, and who selflessly improves and enriches the lives of both individuals, and the greater society.
