Mandi's presentation: "There are many exciting initiatives that have been implemented and are soon to be launched in the membership space:
- People of Action club brochure - a reminder this brochure - available on the front desk each week - is yours to share widely and often with guests and your networks;
- Retirees brochure - currently in production is a similar brochure specifically for people who are planning their retirement, wanting to give back and leave a legacy in the community. If you know of any HR professionals, retirement planners or career coaches who might like to add this brochure to their ’toolkit’ please let me know;
- Skills database - soon to be available, this database will give members the opportunity to volunteer and engage with the club in even more meaningful ways. A big thanks to Mark Pinoli who has been driving this project;
- Proud member digital badge - like a Rotary pin for online! Each member will receive a digital badge to attach to their work email signature, company newsletters, websites and/or intranets. Much like our lapel pins, it’s designed to encourage non-Rotarians to ask you about Rotary and our club;
- Guest invitations - a big thank-you to all club members who have invited guests to meetings over the past 6 months. In particular I wish to thank, Peter Rogers, Trevor Link, Cheryl Lacey, Kerry Kornhauser, Peter Berg and Quin Scalzo.
- Whilst our club meetings are an important part of the membership experience, we can also invite guests to committee meetings, conferences, events, and volunteering days. In light of this, at the club changeover next year we will announce the inaugural club membership champion to the person who has invited the most guests to get involved with our club. I’ll publish a leaderboard (Top 5) in a club bulletin next year
A very special thanks to Ian Evans who goes above and beyond each week in welcoming potential members who have found us online. He often looks after other member’s guests in their absence and ensures guests experience the smoothest and quickest path from interest to membership.
I’m sure all of you would agree with the sentiment that being a Rotarian is life-changing. Not just for the people whose lives we make better, but also on a personal level.
We have a proud history and place within the landscape of Melbourne city - our impact is undeniable.We therefore have a responsibility to our community to ensure we have a thriving club so we can continue to do what we do best.
I put it to members that we also owe it to our friends, families, peers and colleagues to ensure they too get to experience the immense personal satisfaction and purpose that comes with helping others.
Lastly, I encourage each of you as you spend this period in reflection to think about who you can give the gift of Rotary too." Thank you Mandi for a fantastic effort for our Club!
