President Robert has suggested that some of our "cricket fanatical" Members with spare time on Saturday, 19 January and/or Saturday, 26 January might like to meet and talk cricket or international fellowship to some visiting international cricket fanatics whilst assisting to transport the visitors from airport to hotel/hotel to airport on one or both days.
There are two areas where Rotary Club of Melbourne volunteers would be greatly appreciated:
- Bayview on the Park hotel in Queens Road is where the majority of guests will be staying. Friday 25 is the final day of the festival and Saturday 26 is when many will be wanting transport to the airport. We will have 2 minibuses involved with moving these Rotarians but additional capacity would be helpful. We would appreciate any RCM member who has time available on that Saturday to call at the hotel, hold up the attached sign in the foyer and offer transport to the airport.
- On Saturday 19, plan is to have shifts of 2 volunteers at a time greet incoming guests in the international arrivals area with the same signage from early morning until 8pm. The duty of one of those two is to conduct the incoming guests to the Groups and Charters area on the inner roadway opposite the International Terminal. That is the place where minibuses collect the guests.
If you would like to be involved please contact Ari Talantis (our Volunteer Co-Ordinator at ari.skinner@gmail.com) so Ari can liaise with Richard Groom, RC Mont Albert and Surrey Hills in D9810. Volunteers will need the special Logo printed on a "Welcome" card for this event. Ari can assist you with this.
