Some of the important points Sandra made:

• It is never too early to plan for our older age;
• Have a "Living Will" in place as well as Powers of Attorney in case we are not able to communicate our wishes to others;
• Have this important conversation with family to ensure our wishes are followed.

Although only about 15% of us will end up in an age care facility, it is important to take that step earlier to maximise the benefits such places have to offer in independent living together with support at whatever level is necessary.

The response to the questionnaire was excellent and the second half of “The Bright Side of Life” on 30 January will be very interesting with three experts in the field of ageing, responding to our queries."
