Our Club appealed the decision of the State Revenue Office to impose stamp duty on the purchase of our new office at 15 Collins Street. The appeal process required a huge amount of work over some three years by several people in particular, each of whom was very generous with their time and resources. One such was Peter Rogers whose affidavit was the foundation of our case, and which required Peter to be cross-examined at length by Senior Counsel for the State Revenue Office.
