Our Club appealed the decision of the State Revenue Office to impose stamp duty on the purchase of our new office at 15 Collins Street. The appeal process required a huge amount of work over some three years by several people in particular, each of whom was very generous with their time and resources. One such was Jennifer Batrouney QC, who represented the Club as Senior Counsel, and who passionately acted on a pro bono basis throughout both appeals with the assistance of her team of barristers.
