Sue McCarthy summarised: "Last week’s speaker and Club member, Professor Susan Davis spoke on the equality – or lack of it – between men and women. She provided a wealth of statistics which gave world rankings of women’s progress.
Of particular interest was the fact that, while Australia ranks highly on women’s educational participation and achievements, when it comes to advancement in the professions and in Government, we rank well down the international league tables.
This was excellent background for those members who attended the International Women’s Day Breakfast the following morning, where the panel discussed why this might be so." Thanks Sue.
