ROTARY SAFE FAMILIES SUCCESS

Not only has Rotary Safe Families been accepted as a powerful instrument in exploring and "calling out" domestic violence and elder abuse to our Club,  but we have been invited to provide Rotary Safe Families to Rotary Club of Mt Eliza who want to "champion" Rotary Safe Families to all Clubs in District 9820.

Some of the feedback included:

"The interaction with fellow Rotarians provided personal experience which enabled reflection on the identification, management and scope for improvement of this tragic issue."

"Family violence is not to be tolerated and the club has taken a leadership role in addressing the key issues and so well documented in the Tool Kit."

"All members of the community have a role in stamping out family violence and abuse of older generation."

"I have so much more understanding.  I had no idea how to support an older person in our community who is being abused."

"The group discussion about Enduring Power of Attorney was so helpful.  I now know where to seek support."

"The topics were so relevant and will assist me better to discuss issues on family violence with fellow Rotarians."

We shall keep Members posted with the latest updates on our Rotary Club of Melbourne's initiative:  Rotary Safe Families.
