MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT SURVEY

"First of all, my thanks to the 83 members who responded to our recent Survey, which was designed (a) to identify and better appreciate the particular skills and interests of members, and (b) to encourage members to review all the opportunities for participation in Rotary Melbourne’s many activities, events and projects.

One of the goals in our Operational Plan this year has been to maximise member engagement – that is to say in ways that best suit each Rotarian. I hope the exercise has gone some way to achieving this. Over the next week or two, I will provide some interesting feedback from the results of the Survey.

To start with, when the survey was conducted, there were 247 members in our database; 55 female (22.5%) and 191 male (77.5%). 49% logged into the Survey and 35% provided some specific response.

The median years of membership works out at 4 for women and 12 for men. The overall average age of the membership is 66; 58 for women and 69 for men.

While existing data already gave us some 70 different industry categories among our membership, the new data provides more than 250 areas of expertise. Armed with this information, I cannot imagine our being unable to cope with any matter that may arise!

I would like to take this opportunity of acknowledging Mark Pinoli for his extensive help in compiling, distributing and analysing the Survey.

That’s all for now – more to follow next week. I wish you a blessed time over Easter."
